FullCircle L!FE Recovery:  The Stuff Buster

A Step One Meditational Reading

“The Stuff Buster” – Step 1 – WE ADMIT that we are powerless over our addictions, fears, or pain; and that our lives are out-of-control.

Life is a cluster of situations; a relationship network of family, co-workers and friends; a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly, rotation of important events.  Life is somewhat like a bag of “stuff.”  Some stuff, we like and need.  Other stuff, we wish we didn’t have to deal with.  Life can’t be just easy, normal or regular.  If only we didn’t have to deal with all the stuff, it might not be so overwhelming.  Even looking for answers for our stuff-problems can be overwhelming.  So that’s why FullCircle L!FE Recovery looks at the big picture first.  Then, just maybe, things will make more sense!

FullCircle L!FE Recovery begins where we are, or where we think you are.  When we get fullcircle, we may not even realize it, but find that we want to and need to keep going, to keep cycling…to be consistent, to keep on keeping on andto help others with our newfound

Hope

.  This is because we want bring others around into the full circle of God’s perfect love.  Perfect love destroys fear (1 John 4:18) and fear is the biggest reason we got to being OVERWHELMED!
FullCircle takes the 12 Steps of AA (with permission) and breaks them into the Four Actions, each with the corresponding Steps.

Action ONE is COME.  It’s about owning our need, embracing our “stuff,” and having Hope that we need no longer suffer in silence as a Captive

to an addiction, trauma, grief and pain.

COME: There is Hope for the Captive, Steps 1 – 3

  1. We admitted we were powerless over _____________—that our lives had become unmanageable.
  2. We came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
  3. We made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

Buy-in or Ownership: COME

We get ready to

COME over a period of time.  As stuff happens, we realize that things are so overwhelming and unmanageable and that our life is spinning out of control.  God uses this stuff to bring us to our senses and to Himself.  Being ready to COME

to “the God of our understanding,” or the “Power greater than ourselves,” means dealing with the “Denial Demon!”  As the same stuff (results) keep happening when we act/choose the same way/things, we wake up one day and say, “What am I doing? Why do I keep letting this happen?”  “This IS the definition of ‘insanity!’”  We, finally, are ready to ask for some help to get out of our mess.

BIBLE VERSES: Proverbs 14:12, “There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.”NKJV                                Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”ESV                                                                      Romans 6:23,

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”NLT

PRAYER: “Dear God, our lives are _________________.  Our feelings, thoughts and actions are out-of-control.  We’ve had such good intentions, but things still keep turning out all wrong.  We have to stop lying to ourselves.  Thank You, for the things that have been pulling us to You.  We are coming out of our messes, so You can make  Masterpieces out of our lives!” Amen!

SHARE: Read Isaiah 51:1 – 2.  Share with your Sponsor/Mentor or someone you respect some of the stuff that God has used to pull you to Himself.  If you are not ready yet to COME, share with them your biggest roadblocks.
